About the Doctors

DR. DENNIS H. SWENSON

Dr. Dennis Swenson knew from the time he was five years old that he wanted to be a veterinarian. His family brought their pets to this animal hospital, and he worked here throughout college. After graduating from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1968, he was hired as a second veterinarian and soon became an owner.

Dr. Swenson has been active with and held several positions in the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association and the Columbus Academy of Veterinary Medicine. He is also a member of the American Veterinary Association and Feline Practitioner's Association. However, his passion lies in his work with the Pilot Dog Association of Columbus. He has held numerous offices, as well as raising and breeding Labrador Retrievers for the program, and offering complimentary veterinary services.

His love of animals shows in how he reacts to them, and especially in how they respond back to him. He loves the challenge of raising orphaned wild animals, and has been able to return many to the wild, including squirrels, birds, raccoons, and even an opossum.

DR. WILLIAM H. C. GOODE

Dr. William Goode is a 1984 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He started working in a veterinary clinic in Cleveland during his junior year in high school, and continued nurturing his love for animals throughout high school and college. He is currently co-owner of the Swenson Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Goode has a special interest in internal medicine and the importance of the human-animal bond. He feels it is our responsibility and privilege to help guide our animal friends through their lives with a healthy mind and body.

Dr. Goode is currently a member of the American and Ohio Veterinary Medical Association. He also enjoys volunteering in the community to further the cause of animal health and wellbeing.

DR. JAN SCHRIER

Dr. Jan Schrier graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing small animal medicine since she graduated in 1993. On occasion, she has treated some exotic animals as well as wildlife. "My son David's schooling has brought me a variety of turtles, rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters to treat over the years. It's important to me, as a veterinarian, to be a community health advocate."

Dr. Schrier grew up in a small town in western Michigan. After high school she received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Mercy College of Detroit. Her fourteen-year career in nursing included: surgical lCU, general surgery, and E.N.T., Head and Neck Cancer. "I've always enjoyed people, science, and nature. My career in veterinary medicine combines all of these aspects for me."
